Animals By Land

What to do? The contest theme is Animals By Land, wild animals that is. I have quite a few wild animals tucked away in amongst all my 1100+ designs. The challenge was to think of a new one. I wanted to create Squirrels. Thought of trying a cartoon style design... BUT when I started drawing.. this grew out of the screen.

Animals By Air

I've been looking forward to this contest because I knew what I wanted to do even before it was posted, so for once I was ready with an idea. A while ago I did a design with Bees, and I've done several with butterflies.. but I am keen to work on designs about animals in danger of becoming extinct and along with Bees, Bats are another endangered species. So this is what I have created. These are fruit bats, they LOVE MANGOS! LOL
It's called BATS ABOUT YOU!

Elegant Holiday

The Theme "Using at least two of the colors from the palette provided (#2B061E, #5A001C, #AAB5A8) & optional accents of black & white, create a repeating design inspired by a sophisticated winter dinner party." 

And as usual.. it takes time to come up with something.. LOL...And the first one felt lacking..

Though my one Brother would like it because there is space around design.. I felt it didn't have OOOmmpphh!
So I tried again.. putting shadows behind the holly.. hmm stopped half way, didn't really like it and it was taking too long... Then I tried embossed holly leaves in the background.. and decided it was just too busy.. then I tried this....

Marrakesh Rainbow Tiles

Marrakesh, the challenge at Spoonflower this coming week is about the bright colours, smell of spices, fabrics flapping in the breeze, big blue skies, huge yellow sun..... of Marrakesh!

The archways are everywhere, and are a big part of Marrakesh, so, I took the arch and made flowers.......
